Overview
For my university project Seams, I was selected as the team lead, responsible for managing a group of over 10 people throughout a 5-month development period. My role required balancing both creative and organizational tasks to ensure steady progress and a clear vision for the game. I coordinated team efforts, set deadlines, and facilitated communication to keep everyone aligned while also actively contributing to the artistic side of the project. This included designing and illustrating characters, creating environments, and animating pixel art assets to bring the game’s world to life. Leading such a large team was both a challenge and a valuable learning experience, allowing me to develop strong leadership, problem-solving, and creative collaboration skills.

Pixel Art and Visual Design
I contributed to the project by creating art assets, character designs, and pixel art animations. I designed and illustrated characters, environments, and items that helped shape the game’s atmosphere and reinforce its narrative, ensuring a cohesive visual style. Our goal as a team was to craft a diverse cast of memorable characters – and we definitely succeeded.

Challenges & Problem-Solving
Developing Seams came with its fair share of challenges, from managing a large team to balancing creative ambitions with technical limitations. One of the biggest hurdles was ensuring that everyone stayed aligned on the project’s vision while working remotely or on different schedules. Keeping communication clear and maintaining momentum over five months required adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
